Sorry…I am suffering from “Michael Jackson Fatigue”…Which is more special…being “the King” or “the King of Pop”?

             

I don’t know if it is because the media outlets are just really lazy or if there is actually demand for the 24 hour coverage of the memorials and the investigations surrounding the death of Michael Jackson.  I do know that I am definitely suffering from “Michael Jackson Fatigue”…The Associated Press and CNN seem to be the worst for providing endless coverage of the former “pop icon”.  As I sit here…looking through articles upon articles on Mr. Jackson…I wonder…which is more special…being ”The King” (Elvis) or “The King of Pop” (Michael Jackson)…

I don’t know the answer…both were really talented…let me know what you think…

Young Man Arrested after Beating Dead Female Body….In a Funeral Home…That He Broke Into…

In Albuquerque, New Mexico…a young man broke into the mortuary and beat the crap out of a female corpse.  Dominic Goodmoney was arrested Sunday night…covered in blood and digging into his own cuts…I guess he was also banging his head against a building.  (Sounds like a case of bad drugs…)

He was in court Wednesday facing charges of aggravated burglary while armed (he had a knife in his possession), criminal damage to property, tampering with evidence and larceny.  The strange fact about the story is that he is, “unlikely to face any charge for what was described as blunt-force trauma to the face of the dead woman.”

New Mexico allegedly has a gap in their laws and it does not cover the actual harm done to the corpse…who would have thought?!?  The article did state that because of this crime, the District Attorney’s office will ask the Legislature to make “corpse mutilation” a felony.

Who the fuck does stuff like this?

Death by Firing Squad…and the British Woman

This is the story and how I understand it…a British Woman is facing execution in Laos because they caught her with a half kilo of heroin.  It sounds like a lot of heroin…and the Laos government usually gives the death penalty when an individual is caught at trafficking large amounts of narcotics.  Samantha Orobator (apprehended for trafficking) ended up going to prison…to await her trial…and ended up getting pregnant while behind bars.  Nobody really knows if it was consensual and the fears of having a 20 year-old in a foreign prison tends to conjure up fears of exploitation in the public minds.  The mother is upset…obviously…it seems she did not know what her daughter was involved in or that she was in Laos.

The British media is all over this…a now pregnant 20 year-old potentially facing a firing squad in Laos…  It seems that British diplomats and politicians are spending valuable time and money trying to save this person’s life.  When are people going to learn that if they are going to be travelling to other countries (especially those with rigid laws) they must obey the laws and assume there is some risk associated with engaging in unlawful behavior in these countries?  If you willfully commit a crime on foreign soil and the penalty for that crime is death…don’t expect the government and fellow citizens to intervene to help save your life.  There are many other lives that need to be saved…others who may not have made a conscious decision to pull a “bonehead” move abroad….

I don’t want to be a “cold prick” on this one though…I hope she is found innocent and everyone finds it was a big misunderstanding…unfortunately…I do not think this will be the case.

Religious People Who Attend Church Regularly Support Torture?!?

Surprising information regarding religious people who attend church and their support for torture coming from CNN…it seems that the more often you attend church…the more supportive you are of torture.  I found this to be an entertaining news clip from CNN.  Check it out…I just thought that the more often you attended church…the guiltier the conscience but I must have been wrong…

Duane “Dog” Chapman was almost shot…

According to CNN…a fugitive fired a gun at the famous mullet wearing bounty hunter.  I lost interest in this show when he apprehended a “wanted” individual…drove the guy to the jail…prayed and ate birthday cake with him…filmed it all (of course)…and then handed the guy over to the police…yes…true story.  I worry about “dog”…I worry that he believes his own “shit theories” about people wanting to do the right fucking thing…and perhaps his belief in God is making him a little less understanding of his own mortality and the need for better security.  At some point…if the show is actually legitimate…the Chapman crew will run into a mean fucker who will stop at nothing to get away.

I was just reading the morning news cycle and found this story from Reuters.  It is always sad when someone takes their own life…but this is not what I am here to discuss…  Stories like these tend to make me believe that when top-executives for major companies in financial trouble start killing themselves…they are either covering up some illegal activity or they would rather die than expose the “shady work” of other corrupt individuals…

Saudi Arabia – Where you can give your children away to settle debt?!?

Some parts of the world are still pretty fucked up.  I was just reading the CNN story about the 8-year-old girl in Saudi Arabia whose father arranged a wedding for her to settle his debts with a 47-year-old man… The good old Sharia law…remember when certain members of the Islamic community in Canada were lobbying to exercise their “religious right” to practice “Sharia Law”?  Does there not seem to be something fundamentally wrong with a society when they do not protect their women or young from exploitation?  An 8-year-old child…geesh…

Here are some excerpts from the article…

“The relative said the judge, Sheikh Habib Al-Habib, ‘stuck by his earlier verdict and insisted that the girl could petition the court for a divorce once she reached puberty.’ The family member, who requested anonymity, added that the mother will continue to pursue a divorce for her daughter.”

“The girl’s father, according to the attorney, arranged the marriage in order to settle his debts with the man, who is ‘a close friend’ of his. At the time of the initial verdict, the judge required the girl’s husband to sign a pledge that he would not have sex with her until she reaches puberty, al-Jutaili told CNN. The judge ruled that when the girl reaches puberty, she will have the right to request a divorce by filing a petition with the court, the lawyer said.”

Levi Johnston vs. Sarah Palin…

    

I like the way they cover Sarah Palin…like she is actually newsworthy.  I guess Levi Johnston is currently on tour…talking “truths” about his experience with the Palin family…and American media is eating the shit up.  Could you imagine this broad trying to help deal the economy right now?!?…How little confidence the rest of the world would have in America?!

After the whole squeaky clean imagine the Republicans tried to portray during the campaign…things just continue to fall apart for Sarah and the party…not only is Palin allegedly stupid…she also seems to lack the truthfulness or any sort of moral compass.  If you drag your personal life out into the public Sarah Palin…you just can’t pick and choose the things you want people to talk about.

Lou Dobbs…Lou Dobbs

The Independent Voice of CNN...

I watch CNN…and yes…sometimes I watch Lou Dobbs.  I do it for the same reason that I stop on a country radio station when I am in my car…or perhaps…the same reason I slow down and look at an accident.  It is like this…”what the fuck” feeling that comes over me…a compulsion to look at the wreck.

 

 

 

 

A lot can be said about Lou’s routine, his appearance, his demeanor…but I do not want to be stuck inside on such beautiful day writing about Lou fucking Dobbs.  I will keep it short.  When I watch Lou Dobbs…I think that he must practice his bullshit expressions really hard in the mirror (to the point where he probably gets aroused by himself).  While he is ranting about illegal immigrants and buying American…one can only wonder how his teeth got so unnaturally white and whether he is really orange or if it’s my television.

Thank you for being so independent Lou…a true non-partisan man…(the thank you and saying Lou is non-partisan was ”tongue-in-cheek”…figured I should make that abundantly clear.)
